WHY PROPER FOUNDATION BRACKET INSTALLATION IS CRITICAL
WHAT'S IN A BRACKET SYSTEM?
What makes Interwest’s Magnum Bracket System stand apart from the rest? It is common practice for contractors to simply install a few large brackets in an effort to support a foundation. This method is only acceptable if the foundation is in perfect condition. It is all too common for contractors to use this method in older buildings or foundations that show signs of degradation and cracking, resulting in further damage to foundations.
Interwest has designed a total Utah foundation pier system that incorporates and builds upon the practice of using brackets to stabilize a foundation. Rather than expecting your foundation to remain stable standing on only a few pillars, we have developed a more comprehensive system of solid piers strategically placed across the entire foundation. Our foundation repair system was developed through years of experience and has proven time and again to provide our clients with long lasting, sustainable foundation stability.
IT'S ABOUT PRESSURE
There are several different pier systems and they each have their advantages and disadvantages. A helical pier is drilled into the ground before installing the bracket, this process doesn't allow for the pressure of the foundation to be on the bracket at the time of installation. In this scenario, the weight of the house would then settle the foundation onto the pier, which could lead to further settling or cracking. This helical pier system isn’t tested as it is installed which is why our experts at Interwest use the push pier system, also known as resistance piers. We first install the brackets securely to the foundation, once secure we use our advanced lifting system to lift each of the brackets. We have had sweeping success with this foundation lifting bracket system.
The push pier system and helical pier system each have their purpose. One of our knowledgeable Interwest foundation repair experts will determine the most ideal Utah foundation repair method for your home depending on the building structure soil compositions, providing only the most long lasting and sustainable solutions for sinking foundations in Utah.
